For Cycle 15, we have implemented the following changes to APT for preparing Phase I Proposals:
1) New Phase I Roadmap - In response to requests for a step by step procedure for completing a Phase I Proposal, we have created the "Phase I Proposal Roadmap". This is available from the "Roadmap" button on the APT GUI as well as on the web at apt.stsci.edu.
2) Visit Planner - Now that HST is operating in 2 gyro mode you only have to specify and analyze one set of scheduling constraints. You will do schedulability analysis using the APT button called "Visit Planner" (previously accessed as "2-Gryo Planner"). For more information please go to: http://apst.stsci.edu/apt/external/help/documentation/Scheduling_constraints.html
Note that unlike 3 gyro mode, schedulability in 2 gryo mode can be quite different from year to year. If you are considering resubmitting a proposal from last year you will need to reanalyze schedulability for the Cycle 15 time period.
3) FAQ and Bug List - The APT web site (apt.stsci.edu) has been reformatted and reorganized. As part of this, the previously seperate FAQ and Bug lists have been combined into one list so it is easier to search for an issue you have. (This list is also available from APT's Help menu.)
4) Improvements to Address form - We have created a special address FAQ that is accessible directly from the Address form. There is also a new check box that allows you to acknowledge (i.e. get rid of) the warning about an institution that is not in APT's list of institutions.
